FREEING THE GIANT
Hear
how Dr. Erlich’s 8 foot, 6 ½ inch Uncle
Jake, for years “the tallest man in the world,”
tapped into his differences and turned what could
have been a liability into an asset. Through video
clips and old photographs, discover how a painfully
shy man living in a world that was clamoring for “racial
purity” and stamping out human differences overcame
his isolation and utilized his uniqueness. This odyssey
resulted in Jake becoming a silent film and vaudeville
star, circus giant for Ringling Bros. and Barnum &
Bailey, an artist, an esteemed poet, a speaker, an
award winning athlete and photographer and a consummate
salesman.
After
participating, you will understand how liabilities
can become assets, gain the awareness necessary to
avoid the dangers of stereotyping and learn a successful
model for dealing with human differences.
“Freeing
the Giant” is a motivating and moving presentation
which teaches the power of resilience, perspective
and “the potential that lies hidden in perceived
limitations.”
